Hello,
I’m Jerin (pronounced like 'Erin' but with a 'J'). I am an analyst, global educator, and (soon to be) instructional designer. My mission as I explore the instructional design/learning design space is to become more culturally centered, data-informed, shaping myself into an architect for global learner experiences.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Socio-Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Adolescents, Community, and Education (ACE), along with graduate certificates in data analytics & visualizations and instructional design, technology, and organization.
Early in my career, I had the privilege of living in Shanghai, CN, and teaching highly intelligent youth (PreK–6th). It was an amazing experience and ignited my passion for learning and developing global citizens. Driven by this interest, I honed my analytical skills, focusing on user experiences. This involved learning to analyze user behaviors, formulate and test hypotheses, and identify key trends.

After spending five years of my analytical career in web and marketing consulting, I decided to refocus my efforts on education and currently work as a Retention Analyst at a higher education edtech company. I’ve been able to work cross-collaboratively with Student Success, Instructional Design, and various academic partners to leverage course enrollment and learning data, high failed and dropped courses, and at-risk students to efficiently identify struggling students, contributing significantly to student success and retention efforts. This experience reignited my passion for academics and prompted me to pursue an MS in Learning Design and Technology at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
As I continue to grow in my career, I’m focused on deepening my instructional design skills to improve personalized learning experiences through content refinement and enhancing educational insights by measuring student behaviors through data. I’m eager to leverage my expertise in data analytics, education, and learning design to contribute to and make an impact on global learning initiatives, specifically in secondary and higher education.
