Unit 2: ADDIE Model
The ADDIE Model is a comprehensive and systemic approach to creating effective learning material. It consists of five phases:
-
Analysis
-
Design
-
Development
-
Implementation
-
Evaluation
Each phase within the model are used to assure learning experiences are effective when achieving the outlined learning goal(s).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
Limitations
Adaptable
Each phase of the ADDIE Model is adaptable.
Clear Structure
The ADDIE Model provides clear instructions for each phase.
Evaluation Phase
The Evaluation phase of the model assures that effective learning is taking place and learning objectives are being achieved.
Time Consuming
When/if a program is large-scale, going through each step can be extremely time consuming; making it difficult to effectively conduct proper analysis.
Technological Gaps
ADDIE phases don't take into consideration the ever changing environment of education and the need for technology to be incorporated.
Evaluation Phase
This phase can be extensive and very research heavy because of the data gathering, analysis, and identifying potential risks and improvements.
